Alan, great work. Love the name, and explanation of the area. I got to visit Lake Placid and that area in the 1980's. That is where I got to see the first fly angler in action. I decided right then and there it was something I had to do, eventually. Anyway, the fly is wonderful. Love it.

do you need an inner tube or use a junction tube at the end of the fly

Ayesha,

Name only (the hook)?!! What hook? And naming all the gear and nets... what nets? No nets appear in this article. And naming all the gear makes no sense, and is far beyond the scope and subject of the article.

Martin

Don, that is an absolute killer pattern. I LOVE IT. The colors are to die for. The profile it gorgeous. Artfully tied. A definite WINNER!

why do you name only hook? you should given name of nets and others gear.

I couldn't agree more Martin! I hate xxxxin' flash! I have it shut off and refuse to view it. Jobs was right! Apple too rich though... come on they are way overdue because well, they are right. I also own nothing with Microsoft or windows in it. Cant stand that crap, it makes me ill looking at it.

Nice Write up about Ora. I grew up near his house and spent many times in his den while he was tying flies as a child. I still have a small assortment of his flies in one of my boxes. I even have one of his pumpkin heads! I bought a Ruger 10/22 from him and got to shoot it in his basement shooting range. It was interesting as it ran underneath his driveway as I recall.

Martin,

Your words echo with me as well and are sage advice indeed. A friend once told me, after I said to him (about something I wanted to very much do), "I'll do that someday". He said, "Son, (then a long pause) there is no some day". The man was a veteran of the battle for Bastogne in WWII, who shared with me... "some things".

I had to think about what he said for a minute, before it hit me like a hammer. Some day never happens. There is today. Live it!

I've tried to follow that creed as best I can...albeit now with a renewed vigor, with my two sons!

Keep the faith, Martin!
Grant

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
